Fixed income ETFs

Expanding the toolkit

The role ETFs play in modern fixed income allocation

Fixed income ETFs have entered the mainstream, driven by strong demand, attractive yields, and a broadening opportunity set. In 2024 and 2025, the asset class recorded record inflows of $306bn and $430bn, respectively.

Adoption continues to accelerate. ETFs captured 71% of combined fixed income ETF and mutual fund net flows last year, despite representing only 30% of total assets¹. Investor allocations have focused on higher-quality sectors and shorter durations, with active ETFs making up a growing share of fund launches and flows.

Why ETFs in fixed income

Fixed income ETFs have become a core tool for gaining bond market exposure. While individual bonds play an important role in many portfolios, ETFs offer a different way to access fixed income – one that can simplify implementation, improve portfolio flexibility, and support a wide range of investment objectives. From long-term core allocations to tactical positioning and liquidity management, fixed income ETFs provide investors with efficient access across rates, sectors, and various segments of the bond market.

There are risks involved with investing in ETFs, including possible loss of money. Shares are not actively managed and are subject to risks similar to those of stocks, including those regarding short selling and margin maintenance requirements. Ordinary brokerage commissions apply. The Fund’s return may not match the return of the Underlying Index. The Fund is subject to certain other risks. Please see the current prospectus for more information regarding the risk associated with an investment in the Fund.

Fixed-income investments are subject to credit risk of the issuer and the effects of changing interest rates. Interest rate risk refers to the risk that bond prices generally fall as interest rates rise and vice versa. An issuer may be unable to meet interest and/or principal payments, thereby causing its instruments to decrease in value and lowering the issuer’s credit rating.

Shares are not individually redeemable and owners of the Shares may acquire those Shares from the Fund and tender those Shares for redemption to the Fund in Creation Unit aggregations only, typically consisting of 10,000, 20,000, 25,000, 50,000, 80,000, 100,000 or 150,000 Shares.

Before investing, investors should carefully read the prospectus/summary prospectus and carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses. For this and more complete information about the Fund call 800-983-0903 or visit invesco.com for the prospectus/summary prospectus

Unlike individual bonds, bond funds have fees and expenses and most bond funds do not have a maturity date, so holding them until maturity to avoid losses caused by price volatility is not possible.
